Martin Goodfellow was one of four post-graduate students from the Universities of Manchester and Sheffield who competed in and won the national UK Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) Competition as part of team ^Pinnacle.

The annual competition, held at the Birmingham Science Park Aston on 8th June, pits teams of post-graduate students against each other in a battle to secure venture capital funding for fictitious engineering concepts in a 'Dragon's Den' style shootout.

A panel of Venture Capitalists, industrial experts and IP lawyers was on hand to judge the business plan pitches and in a close battle, team ^Pinnacle were victorious. The team scooped the £2000 prize as well as a year's membership in the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).
